Provenance:
Cemetery No. 1, lies on a high sandhill at Kenézlõ-Fazekaszug dûlõ, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county. This area once was bordered by the Tökös lake, that dried out by now.

Discovery of the finding:
In 1913, three graves were disturbed during ploughing. In the same year, András Jósa uncovered further 22 burials. In 1990, an old inhabitant of Kenézlo reported, that a local landowner Géza Szalay had uncovered at least 8 graves, containing tarsoly finds, within the territory of the cemetery between 1919-1920. In 1920, further Conquest period graves were disturbed at the border of Kenézlõ. In 1927 some further excavations began.

Material:
Base silver foreplate, bronze backplate.

Size:
106x103 mm.

Preparation method:
The frontplate and the backplate were held together with a line of dome-headed silver rivets.

Artwork:
The rivets, placed by 20 mm of distance of each other also form a border ornament. The centre of the front plate is decorated with a triangular and two dome-headed rivets. The plate is very fragmentary and its lower quarter part is missing.
